Approved Transcriptionists for Snohomish County Superior Court

Snohomish County is one of the fastest growing counties in Washington State, and its Superior Court in Everett handles a caseload that reflects it — civil, criminal, family law, probate, juvenile, and domestic matters spread across a growing roster of judges and commissioners. Vernon Court Reporters is on the Snohomish County approved transcriptionist list and can begin work on your transcript as soon as you have the recording.

Is Your Hearing on the Record?

This is the first question to answer before ordering anything. Snohomish County is explicit about it: court hearings may be reported by a traditional court reporter, recorded electronically, or not recorded at all. The method varies by courtroom and calendar type.

To find out how your hearing was handled, look at the minute entry in your case file. If it shows the hearing was reported by a court reporter, contact Superior Court Administration to get that reporter’s information — Vernon does not transcribe stenographic records. If it shows the hearing was electronically recorded, you can order the audio and we can transcribe it.

One important quirk: judge civil motions in Snohomish County are not automatically recorded. Parties who want their civil motion recorded must contact the law clerk of the assigned judge in advance to arrange it. If that step was missed, there may not be a recording to order.

Not sure how to check? You can look up your case at the Washington Courts Odyssey Portal or contact the Clerk’s Office at (425) 388-3466 or [email protected].

Who We Help in Snohomish County

Commissioner calendars in Snohomish County cover domestic motions, protection order hearings, civil commissioner motions, probate, and guardianship — and those hearings are electronically recorded. That is the bulk of our Snohomish County work. We also transcribe juvenile offender and dependency proceedings, and criminal hearings where a recording was made.

Snohomish County has grown significantly over the past decade, with rapid development in Lynnwood, Marysville, Mukilteo, and Bothell pushing more people — and more court cases — through the system. We work with attorneys from across the county as well as self-represented parties navigating the process on their own.

Why Choose Vernon Court Reporters

Vernon is approved in courts across western Washington, including King County, Whatcom County, and Kitsap County.
